Northside Youth and Junior Tri is a community organization dedicated to promoting youth and junior triathlon in the Northside region. We aim to provide opportunities for young individuals to engage in the sport of triathlon, develop their athletic skills, and foster a love for health and fitness.
Our programs include training camps, and coaching sessions. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where young athletes can learn, grow, and have fun.

Joseph always have a passion in sports since childhood. He always love cycling and running. For over decades of triathlon training and racing experience, He has already have the fundamentals and is highly skilled in motivating the young athletes to achieve their best.
Joseph earned his USAT Level I Coaching and Level 1 Youth and Junior Area of Focus Certification in in which qualifies him as a triathlon coach to train the future generations under the strict guidelines of USAT (recognized as the National Governing Body of triathlon by the U.S. Olympic Committee, the International Triathlon Union and the U.S. Congress).
Joseph’s mission on this team is to coach youth and juniors by encouraging and supporting each highly motivated triathletes’ individual goals.
Coach Joseph is an accomplished triathlete, participating lots of triathlon both local and out of state. He also finished in both Half and Full Ironman. He also brings himself to the podium in races He attended to.

I have been a Triathlon and Running coach since 2011. I have a passion to help others achieve their goals. Whether you want to finish a race set a personal best or compete, I started running in High school. Completed my first marathon at 19. I now compete in 5k to marathons. I have Qualified for Boston 4 times. Completed 2 MS150. Completed 5 Ironman Texas. I will be competing in my 6th one in Chattanooga. The best part of coaching is watching my athletes cross the finish line. I believe from being the slowest runner to competing it is about staying healthy and loving what you are doing. I have always trained with a team. Northside is an amazing group. They are always there to encourage you and cheer you on.

Coach Stephen has been coaching youth in competitive swimming for the past 12 years. Throughout college, he served with the County of Maui Park and Recreation Department and implemented the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program during local summer camps all around the island. He began his swim coaching career as a junior varsity coach while teaching overseas in Dubai. Within two years, he helped lead both the junior varsity and varsity boys & girls team to a 2nd place finish at the 2012 ISAC swimming championships in Cairo, Egypt. After teaching overseas for 10 years, he moved to the Woodlands, and continued his coaching career with the Woodland Waves.
As an avid age group swimmer, he felt the inclination to join the triathlon community. He competed in his first sprint triathlon as part of a relay team in 2010 (Abu Dhabi, UAE) and his first sprint tri in the Woodlands (2018 CB&I Sprint Triathlon). Within the past three years, he set out to put more focus on improving his running and joined Northside Running & Tri. In 2021, he competed in the Kerrville sprint triathlon (Kerrville, TX) and finished 3rd in his AG while earning a qualifying time for the USTA Age Group Nationals. He was recently selected as a 2022 Kerrville Triathlon Ambassador and will be competing in his first half-Ironman this September in Kerrville.
He believes that everyone has the ability to enjoy swimming and that the sport of swimming contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
